On line Journal writing has its perks and accessories too. Just as I can jot down on my dream Moleskine (soon, my dear!) and decorate with images from my favorite metallic pens and stickers my kids give me, having this on-line Journal makes information sharing 3 dimensional. Web users share information and great content topics to give you a leg up when your own creative juices are on the low. For the time being, forums and getting my opinions about lots of things occupy my time. This is how I stumbled upon dNeero site.
The "OM*" impression I put down was the eye-popping one, very much used by the Ghost Busters toy Egon action figure my brother used to have. Next to smiley's, verbal impressions are very much word and wit play...

Writer Aggression is Adviced
The night before, my eldest was mimicking the warning made before an episode of a crime thriller played. The warning was supposed to be "Viewers discretion is advised..." and instead of my NiKkI said "aggression". Anyway, the word stuck and I decided to use it in today's journal scribe post.
The art of journal keeping impresses and inspires yet in most cases when it comes to facing a blank page, it is one of the most intimidating actions. Writing your thoughts down and affecting a reader either by gaining admiration, hate or no-reaction ever extinguishes the desire to just 'JOT IT!'. Seeing that page utterly empty and needing some stuff on it let thoughts like "What if no one likes it?" or "NO ones going to want to know what I think!" intimidate one to put the pen down and crumple the page.
Let's get things straight first, journal writing is all about YOU. As far as the readers or posterity are concerned they are given a gift of sharing snatches of your life that has meant a lot to you. In my book that is a privilege and not negotiable. Why would anyone invest time and brain cells on journal writing? The answer would be the same for "Why should people talk?". Communication is one necessities man can't do without, even without the use of the voice and just a touch or a hand-sign, its is vital. Communicating through means of parchment and ink bridges gaps in time, provides a continuity and a short peek at how a worldwide concern has affected a person and those close by. Communicating a scene or even a rare appearance of a new specie of animal or an outline of a figure an artist thought of rendering- these are invites to witness and validate their existence by reading.
Getting the past the misplaced and imaginary inferiority complex, journal writing will be easier and free-flowing. Some journal writers also depend on journal prompts to jump start their entry writing.
Just like my fixation to the phrase coined from what my daughter said, it provided me with a writing prompt to get my thoughts on the subject out and posted. The same goes for pen and paper journals- a record of time, feeling and thoughts can be generated this way.
Getting the nerve to start and nourish a journal writing life requires aggressive belief in what you can do without caring. Before it gets misinterpreted, all this is in positive light. To be clearly a journal writer for the sake of the future that will not have any idea of how you'd look like or how you think as.
They say practice leads to routine which in turn leads to habit...journal keeping is just that.

Journal Techniques
Inspiration fizzles without a set goal and guide to keep on the right track. Journal techniques mean zilch if the most basic journal writing rule is not followed...Your journal is your life as you live it and not how others live it for you. In short, the journal reflects the TRUE YOU. Don't worry even if you may be prone to delusions, one is bound to write ones' truth.
Forcing your minds to think have an Alexander Graham Bell moment is useless. A journal is free flowing and an unconscious continuum in prose style, reference and subjects. Let's say the journal by James P. Chapen dealt with nature, he made notations and scientific illustrations of birds since his research dealt with ornithology. I'll mention Cameron Diaz too, she is believed to have 3 journals: work, personal and bedside. Instead of having 1 journal for all 3 subjects, Ms. Diaz' journal life concerns her career, private thoughts and maybe reflection.
When a journal prompt is felt, your handy notebook and pen creates the picture both your mind and heart see in life. Words are words, there is no reason to be scared ...to help out here are some techniques to keep your journal updated and in point.
Notations- brief descriptive entry that usually jogs your memory to that moment you noted something. A brief “Went to Fontana di Trevi...felt like Audrey Hepburn and tossed 3 coins and made a wish. Why not?” says a lot about how much walking the same ancient Roman roads like la Hepburn meant to you...
Illustrations- the beauty of having a journal and a pen is there are no batteries needed...you get to look around and absorb the surroundings and when you see something particular to capture or and image that comes to mind that bound paper and lead tipped or fine nib is there to render.
Writing- several times a day or in a week there is always a time of reflection and retrospect...there is also a time when writing about a problem shows you the how's and why's. Writing in your journal can show a pattern of how you live your life.
Jotting down things- this techniques is best described as the bookmark command. Jot down an interesting street address, a funny shop name, a minute observation...
Archive- some journals preserved by time contain several keepsakes that tell about what is written...a ticket stub to a concert, a photograph, a note from a friend.
Not to worry, any can be combined, mostly it is according to your need to use the techniques. Keep in mind that journal writing is a personal process, it is experiencing life around people, writing how they touch your life (or mar it) and in the end of your life it is for sharing yourself to those who thought they knew you a lot.

Le Cahier (The Notebook)
"Who am I? And how, I wonder will this story end?" -The Notebook, chapter 1
The opening line on one of the greatest and moving love stories of all time sums what a journal is to its beholder. We live in a world where being yourself means several hats and identities to fit the people who matter most in your life. Being your self becomes a cliché because one can be just 1/100th of who they are even to people who have “known” them all their lives. Stop shaking your head and bite the bitter pill...when was anyone ever 100% true to oneself without being scared it might just scare the behemoth out of others?
Journals, yes those notebook-like things that absorb every letter and word of your most kept self. Today's society has gone overboard with being pc (politically correct) that the way people are classified are the first layer of rope that bind anyones freedom to be just themselves. Where is it said in the constitution that I can't be goth and be a fan of Branden Fraser? Or where does it say I have to be a bully or a head basher to get respect? Is it also in any federal law that my clothes have to be signature and expensive to be called a human being?
For awhile, when weblogs had started we were getting first hand dibs on a persons life which was just url away. Today, a great percentage of weblogs and social network sites with chat services and subscriptions are used by people who take up identities not their own as an escape from the bitter truth (your life's as boring as apple pie or too colorful to be taken seriously and anything in between or beyond). Of course several blogs to thy name may mean a great sense of income generation.
Now, with sturdy virgin pulp paper bound and covered in an all weather cover, a journal is where your real self can get out of solitary confinement. Writing away in abandon, without fear of judgment no retribution. Unlike its electronic counterpart (blog sites), comments are totally disabled!
Journal keeping and writing was popular way back when computers were as big as an average living room and too expensive to own. When a journal scribbler dies, his or her posterity usually get to see their late relative as a whole imperfect person. Heck even those with demented ideas jotted down bear witness through their daily writings their hardships, frustrations or even unfinished business. Oh, by the way journals by criminals, are the best source of proof and suspect profiling.
Personally, when I get my hands on the coveted Moleskine sets ordered from Avalon.ph, all the lose leaves of randomness and personal rants will be the best way to introduce myself to the future generations. As much as an iMac or them cool notebooks (electronic) are convenient to have and have auto-spell check and can customize font and color, paper and pen will never be rivaled by longevity.
